In the summer of 2018, De Ringberg Swimming Pool in Scheemda, Groningen, took delivery of a new Watergames & More family waterslide. On this project, a group of local volunteers offered their assistance with a view to constructing a stunning attraction with the limited resources available.
A safe attraction for all ages
The foundation that manages the site placed great emphasis on user safety. The swimming pool is popular among the town’s younger generation, including numerous young children. The family slide (or Waverider) is a highly suitable attraction for young and old alike. This wave-shaped waterslide has a maximum gradient of 35%. Visitors therefore have the option of riding the slide either individually, or simultaneously with a group of friends or family. The slide is open and safe, enabling families with (young) children to ride it without any worries. Want to see more? If so, then view the video below:
In the process of constructing the attraction, Watergames & More supplied and erected the slide, while also took carrying out the associated construction. De Ringberg itself engaged both volunteers and cooperation partners, which saved on costs. In addition to carrying out turnkey delivery of projects, Watergames & More offers clients the option of executing parts of the project themselves. This enables one to create a splendid water attraction with very modest resources.
Advantages that the waterslide has brought
The foundation’s reason for constructing a new waterslide was to increase the attraction value of the open air pool and, as a logical consequence, attract more visitors. And its efforts proved successful: ‘We expected to attract significantly increased visitor numbers, and attendance has indeed risen sharply since completion of the waterslide. It attracts mainly children and youths between the ages of 4 and 18 years.’ the Chairman of De Ringberg Foundation proudly admits.
