Watergames & More review of 2020

Reading time: 2 minutes

2020 was a turbulent year for everyone. Projects were postponed, or even brought forward. Some of our clients were obliged to close temporarily, while others had a particularly good year. Trade fairs were cancelled, while webinars became increasingly popular. In short: this year was far from normal. We take this opportunity to briefly reflect on some of the highlights:

Dealer of the year
The year 2020 got off to a fantastic start! At the beginning of the year, Waterplay Solutions Corp., our partner in Spray Park equipment, presented two awards to Watergames & More: We received both the Dealer of the Year Award 2019, for excellent sales growth, and the President’s Award 2019, for sound commitment to training and development and outstanding sales and marketing initiatives. As a team, we are honoured to have received these awards, and look forward to cooperating with Waterplay Solutions Corp. for years to come.

Exceptional projects
Despite the highly unusual circumstances in 2020, we were able to continue to accept and complete projects. Among the highlights were the three different waterslides at De Meermin swimming pool, the themed Spray Park H2O Herford Sports & Water Park in Germany, the fully themed water attraction at monte mare swimming pool (in Germany) and the family slide at Heeg Beach, which exceeded all expectations in terms of attraction value. In fact, the last of these water attractions managed to record a quarter of a million slide rides within the space of three months! We are pleased that we have been able to supply clients with valuable attractions, while also offering their guests a great deal of aquatic fun.

Webinars
In 2020, the number of business webinars hosted skyrocketed. Watergames & More also jointly organised two webinars with partners. Together with a number of German companies, including POS4 Architekten, Pellikaan and KRIEGER Architekten, we organised online webinars about BIM software. Designers, suppliers and other parties involved use Building Information Modelling (BIM) to generate an accurate composite building model, while avoiding discrepancies between the various components of structures. As our in-house designers make use of this software when designing waterslides, we are pleased to share our knowledge in this regard. We can therefore proudly reflect on two highly successful webinars this year!

Trade Fairs 2020
Another consequence of the preventive measures implemented this year was that trade fairs had to be cancelled. Normally, Watergames & More would have participated in the following four domestic and international trade fairs in 2020: The IAAPA Expo, Interbad, ZwembadBranche Dag and the Recreation Trade Fair. We hope to see you at our stand again next year.
